Bodyguard remake begins with Vijay and Asin

Kollywood's Ilayathalapathy Vijay's much-talked-about Tamil remake of Malayalam blockbuster Bodyguard, which marks the re-entry of Asin in South Indian cinema after a gap, is likely to start rolling from April 1 in Chennai under the direction of Siddique, who directed the original.

According to sources, Raj Kiran will play the pivotal role as Asin’s father, who employs Vijay as her bodyguard. Vadivelu will provide the comic relief along with M.S. Bhaskar. Vidyasagar will compose the music.

This is the second time Siddique is working with Vijay. Earlier they came together in the superhit Friends. Notably, this is the third time Vijay and Asin team up in their careers. The duo was earlier seen in Pokkiri and Sivakasi, which did wonders at the box office.
