Aishwarya Rai at Zee Cine Awards: i missed my family a lot : The tired eyes said it all. Actress Aishwarya Rai (that’s the way she signed the autographs) admitted that she’s been unwell and missed her family around her.
“Yes, I am not well at all. I am here to honour a commitment that I made. I always live up to my commitments. I am on antibiotics now,” says Rai-Bachchan moments after her performance at the Zee Cine Awards on Friday evening.
Rai-Bachchan says that in stressful moments like these, the one thing that she misses around her is her family — specially her Pa (Amitabh Bachchan) and husband Abhishek.
“They are in two different locations. Pa is shooting at a location outside Mumbai and Abhishek is in Italy. It would have been great had they been around me. I am definitely missing them. I so wish that they were here to watch me win this award (the Jury’s Choice for the film Guzaarish). It’s a first and I so hoped that they would have been around. But I’m sure they must’ve got to know about it by now,” smiles Rai-Bachchan.
The actress does not mind the interruptions by fans who’ve been waiting for hours to get her autograph or a picture, and indulges them. “It’s the love and affection of fans in moments like these that make all the effort seem worthy. I’m aware thatthey wait to see me, and so small things (like being unwell) don’t matter in times like these,” she explains.
Her recent film Guzaarish, which failed to make an impact at the box-office, is faring well when it comes to winning awards. But Aishwarya is quick to point out that she does not mind thebox-office results of a film if she’s satisfied as an actress.
“My character in Guzaarish was multi-layered. Some people have appreciated it and I’ve been awarded for it. Besides, Sanjay (Leela Bhansali) has given me some of the biggest milestones of my career like Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. He is a director who’s never lost his faith in me. And I want to say that Guzaarish is one of the best gifts that he has given me. The rest of it doesn’t matter as I got to play someone who I’ve been waiting to play for a long time,” says the actress.

Aishwarya Rai lost her belongings at Chennai airport!: The latest buzz in tinsel town is that Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan faced a harrowing time at the Chennai airport while traveling from New Delhi to Chennai as she lost her personal belongings.
Aishwarya had traveled to the south capital for a promotional event but unfortunately lost her belongings and was left with an awkward situation as she had no clothes to wear for the event.
The airlines admitted that it was their mistake. The organizers kept no stone unturned to arrange for an outfit for Ash.
They got hold of a designer store and also arranged some local shoes for her. Ash got dressed and attended the event which was organized in a mall.

It’ll be a moment to treasure when 14 years of cinematic chase will tee off to a close. If all goes well, Vishal Bhardwaj’s long standing dream of directing Aishwarya Rai is all set to fructify into reality. And in a surprising of sorts, the VB flick will have her pair up with…hold your bated breath… Saif Ali Khan!
Earlier on, for 14 years, Bhardwaj’s dreams came to naught as Aishwarya Rai was either too busy, had date hassles or tragically, the ventures concerned did not catch her fancy. Word has it that Bhardwaj, has approached Aishwarya Rai with two more scripts and a concept based on William Henry Shakespeare’s cult tragedy ‘Hamlet’, in which he plans to showcase Aishwarya Rai alongside Hrithik Roshan.
A highly closed source states, “Vishal did go to Janak, the Bachchan bungalow in Juhu ( suburban Mumbai) with a script in hand. He had an hour long meeting with Aishwarya and they discussed the film offers that he had at length. As of now, matters are very hush hush.” Interestingly, this twist couldn’t have zoomed in at a more appropriate time as Aishwarya finds herself out of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ with Kareena Kapoor closing in as her svelte replacement.

Hosted by Dr Mukesh Batra and Rajiv Bajaj, the event saw guests like Dolly Thakore, Raell Padamsee, Rashmi Uday Singh and Ananya Bannerjee in attendance.

Aishwarya now performing as 'Bua' at her home for few months!: Aishwarya Rai has decided to stay at home for two months and help her bhabhi (brother Aditya's wife) Srima with her baby boy, who was born on November 26.
She will avoid most public appearances in the next couple of months, as she wants to spend as much time as possible at home. She will only attend those she had previously committed to. Says a source, "Post-Guzaarish, she missed the promotions so she could be with her sister-in-law.
Everyone is very excited about the baby, Ash more so. She had warned all her producers, organisers and media manager about the situation." She will play the doting bua to the hilt in real life now.
After a while Says a source close to Rai-Bachchan, "She deliberately finished all her film assignments by October. And she has not signed any film after Guzaarish.
She will finalise her next batch of films with Vishal Bhardwaj, Shyam Benegal and Madhur Bhandarkar after two months."
Confirms Aishwarya, "I've just been travelling and shooting, of late. Now I'm taking time off to be with my sister-in-law and her baby." While it’s understandable that her ethics and morals don’t permit her to go bold, in the current era of high-tech gadgets, even an Indian actress is showing no qualms about kissing their co-star (take for instance the likes of Kareena Kapoor, Deepika Padukone or Priyanka Chopra).

The photographs just landed in my mailbox and I am sharing them with you. It reminds me of Akshay Kumar’s now infamous visit to R K Laxman. Ostensibly, Akshay Kumar wanted to visit the iconic creator of the Common Man, which influenced the screen adaptation of his character in Khatta Meetha.
The actor has been roundly criticised for his photo ops with Mr Laxman. This report in The Times of India is a reminder of Mr Laxman’s heartrending condition and, simply put, the insensitive timing of the visit.R K Laxman is deprived of speech and movement. Aishwarya Rai Dedicates Teachers People Achiever Award

ld actress was honored with this award at Hotel Taj Lands End and she instantly dedicated it to her dad as a birthday gift to him. Incidentally, it was the birthday of Aishwarya’s father Krishnaraj Rai. After receiving the award, the beautiful star of recently released Guzaarish, said that she always had faith in her fans all over the world. The ‘Bachchan bahu’ added that the award is special to her because it is a people’s choice award.
Apart from Aishwarya, the Anjaana Anjaani hero Ranbir Kapoor was also honored with the Teacher’s Achievement Award for Entertainment. Funny man Boman Irani also bagged the achiever of the decade award. Veteran actress Shabana Azmi received the lifetime achievement award.
This was the 10th edition of the Teacher’s Achievement Awards, which initiated in the year 2001. The owner of Teacher’s brand liquor company Beam Global Spirits and Wine organizes the event every year. This is just another feather added to the beauty queen Aishwarya Rai’s crown this year.
