Bollywood actors Dharmendra, and his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol promoted ‘Yamla, Pagla, Deewana’ here amid much fanfare. Actors Kulraj Randhawa and Anupam Kher were also present at the event. ” ‘Yamla, Pagla, Deewana’ is a beautiful title. I think the name suits our characters and personas in totality. It is not for one person, but all three of us,” said Dharmendra.
Directed by Samir Karnik, the film revolves around the life of a Non-Residential Indian (NRI) who suddenly finds out that his father and brother live in Varanasi. He returns to India to explore his past India’s cultural ethos to revive family tie. “Comedy is always liked by the people. In our careers, we have touched people emotionally through movies. Now, I feel we should try to do the same with comedy too. I am quite hopeful that we will touch their hearts and make people laugh and laugh and laugh, and somewhere in between, make them cry too,” said Dharmendra. The film’s title is inspired by the Bollywood number, ‘Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana,’ sung by Mohammad Rafi in the 1975 blockbuster ‘Pratigya’. The film is scheduled to hit theatres around Christmas.
