The summer heat is on in Kerala as the biggest summer season release, as per theatres in Kerala, the Lal directed In Ghost House Inn clashes with Mammootty’s B Unnikrishnan directed Pramani.
Both the films carry good pre-release reports and have been censored with a clean ‘U’ certificate and are releasing on Thursday (March 25) and Friday (March 26) respectively.
It is a bitter battle out there as both the films are trying to woo the family audiences as summer holiday season starts this weekend with the closure of educational institutions.
In Ghost House Inn is the more preferred film among theatre owners as the Harihar Nagar franchise films have always worked big time at the box-office and the film is releasing in nearly 90 screens across Kerala in the best of screens.
Mammootty after Drona’s ‘No Show’ desperately needs a hit to salvage his reputation at the box-office. B Unnikrishnan’s Pramani carries good reports as a family entertainer, with the Megastar in a negative role. The film distributed by Mammootty’s Play House is releasing in 72 screens.
The theatres in Kerala are betting big on In Ghost House Inn as they feel the comedy riot mixed with horror will enable the film to take an extraordinary opening.
At the same time the industry feels that Pramani director B Unnikrishnan understands the pulse of the family audiences and it may turn out to be the first summer winner.
